![]() Hi Everyone, long time reader first time typer.
I have a 94 Club Car DS that I'm currently working on. (First Ever Cart Rebuild) So I got all of my turn signals wired and working last night and now it's off to getting the brake lights up and running. I'm a bit of an impatient cart builder so here is my question, rather than driving the 50 mile round trip to the nearest Club Car Dealer to pick up the Brake Light Switch (which I'll do if I have to). I was wondering if there is something I can pick up at a NAPA that would work, or if anybody has had any success with getting something else to work? Is there a generic solution that is pretty easy to do or am I better off hitting the highway and fighting traffic? Thanks so much for any help. By the way, I cannot tell you all how much I dig this site! |

![]() Neah a simple micro switch can be used for the brake lights and a spring.
You may even be able to buy a brake switch at Napa. |

![]() You can adapt a brake light switch for an MGB to work.

![]() There are 2 circuits to the bulb, and 2 filaments in a stop/tail light bulb. When U are running the tailights only, only 1 filament is energized. When you step on the brake, the second filament is energized and lights. Hope this helps.

![]() Thanks guys! I ended up taking the drive because it was pretty nice out. Got the brake light switch and a bracket. Promptly returned home to find out the bracket wouldn't work and subsequently broke the dang switch,,,, ugh. Ended up getting a generic micro switch from the local NAPA and bolted in a different spot and BINGO! Brake Lights working! Heading out to the father-in-laws metal fab shop tomorrow to fab up some bling for a few spots. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! Lol!
