The drain plug is on the bottom of the front side of the engine accessable thru a little hole in the skid plate....Nice? huh... Don't forget the spin-on oil filter.

Super Tech 4967, Or... STP 4967

Maintenance suggestions are in the "Stickies" at the top of the main CC gas page!

I don't think these filters will fit the FE290 engine. I tried a purolator L1011 which was a cross referenced part to the STP 4967 and it was too large. The filter that was on mine was a John Deer AM107423. Purolator crosses this to a L14476.

Hummm...
The Super Tech 4967 is on my cart right now (and it's the 3rd one!)
and yes... I have an FE350, but the FE290 and the FE350 use the same filiters! (and have for years!)

Something might have gotten messed up in the cross-reference!

I get them at Wal-Mart (that way I can play Wal-Mart bingo at the same time! )

Yeah, I checked a few of the filters docdryden listed and they all crossed to the Purolator L14476. I guess i frigged up the initial cross reference.

Whats Wal-mart bingo anyway?
