Default throttle type 5k-0 or 0-5k

1993 Club Car DS, Curtis 1204-015/24-36v/275a. I put on 22" tires and lift kit w/back seat - need more power and torque. I am first going to change the controller to a 500-600a - can you tell me how to tell if I have 5k-0 or 0-5k on the throttle type...thx.

1996 was the first 5k-0 Cart from CC. Everything prior to 96 was 0-5k.

I have a 96 with cvp and mine goes from 0-5k.

From the 95/96 manual.

THE SPEED CONTROL CIRCUIT
Multi-step Potentiometer (Wiper Switch) Models:
The speed control circuit consists of the multi-step potentiometer with discrete resistors. With the car in forward, the potentiometer resistance varies from 0 ohms with the accelerator pedal up (at rest position) to approximately 4940 ohms with pedal fully depressed (for full-speed operation, resistance must be above
4600 ohms and below 7000 ohms). When the vehicle is put into reverse, a limit switch is engaged that brings an additional resistor into the circuit at the F&R limit switch No. 3. This reduces vehicle top speed in reverse to approximately half of forward top speed.

Continuously Variable Potentiometer Models:
The speed control circuit consists of a solid state three-wire potentiometer. With the car in forward, the potentiometer resistance varies from approximately 0 to 300 ohms with the accelerator pedal up (at rest position) to approximately 5500 ohms with pedal fully depressed (for full-speed operation, resistance must be above
4600 ohms and below 7000 ohms). When the vehicle is put into reverse, a limit switch is engaged that brings an additional resistor into the circuit at the F&R limit switch No. 3. This reduces vehicle top speed in reverse to half of forward top speed.

I've seen this in the manual as well, but I can assure you it's incorrect. 0-5K was used in 1993 and 1994 on 36V Solid State cars and in 1995 on 48 Volt cars until week 16. After week 16 5K-0 was introduced and they haven't looked back since.
