G22 drive clutch machining
Hi folks, I'm working with my machinist to see if he can machine the ramp angles on my G22 drive clutch to get the belt up quicker and push it up farther for more top end. Have any of you already done this? His question back to me was on the thickness of the sheave faces to see if it would make them to thin after machining. Any body done this and had a problem?
The objective is to slightly modify the ramp angle to get the belt in the power quicker and also machine the sheave bottoms to let the sheaves come a bit close and push the belt up higher to improve the top end speed at the same RPM. We do this all the time on ATV clutches with amazing results. If anyone has done it I would love to hear your thoughts. If not, as soon as I can get one of the pullers, I will pull the clutch and send it to my guy to see if there is anything that can be done. Thanks! |

Re: G22 drive clutch machining
I'm pretty sure Tom at Cart Parts Plus (check our sponsor link in my sig), does this or is well educated on this topic.
