Will 23" tires work with 4 inch lift
I have a 92 Marathon with 4 inch lift kit. Time to buy wheels and tires. Most MFgs suggest 22 tires with 4 inches of lift but it seems like plenty of clearance for 23s. Any thoughts or expereince here? This cart will be used offroad on ranch roads.

You would have to move the front wheels forward because the 22's on my 88 marathon barely cleared.

OK, I will stick with the 22s. After the lift I have about 5 inches of clearance at the worst point with my 18s so with 22s I should have 3 inches of clearance which should be plenty. If its not, i will trim the lip of the fender. I can get another 1.5 inches that way.

The issue will be the frame on turns and the brake peddle kinkage. You need 6 inches of lift for the 23s.

We got an old 88 shop beater w/ a 4" block lift & 22x11-8 on it. Looks like another 1/2" will work all around, but I have to agree with ScottyB on when your suspension is compressed it may rub. |
