headlights dim in and out

Hey guys i put some new headlights on my golf cart and at night they dim when your foot isnt on the gas and when you press the gas they get really bright is there a way to fix this.

How dim is dim The generator out put voltage varies with rpm and will cause this. If lights are wired into cart wiring the wire may be a little small for the load.
