![]() Hello , I have a 1995 ez-go , with a 4in lift and lager tires, I just upgrades from 300 amp to a 400 amp speed controller because my old one was fried. I currrently have reverse but not forward, it acts like it wants to move but will not . I checked the wires and the on that comes off the solenoid that goes to the speed controller is a little warm, any ideals ?
Thanks Huntingbuddy |

![]() Welcome to BGW!
Check all the connections you made first. MAKE SURE the cart is wired right. Then check your F/R switch. If it works in reverse the problem usually is in the F/R switch. Run the switch back and forth several times....then push the pedal enough to get the solenoid to click and wiggle the switch back and forth. One of the contacts could be burnt and making a bad connection. |

It's definately your F/R assembly. Take it apart and clean or replace the buss bars and studs. Thats your problem. And thats of course why he wanted you to check it that way. Also, while it's apart, check the micro switches with a meter. ![]() |

![]() So, you have a toggle switch F&R on the dash? Not a lever below the seat behind driver's knee?

![]() the F/R switch is under the seat the only wiring is for two micro switched , it looks like they are working but the cart only moves in reverse . it trys to move forward but then stops , and the cable that goes for the selinoid to the speed controll gets hot , any ideals ?

![]() I'm pretty sure you have a bad connection. Take that cable completely off, clean it real good, and put it right back on. Make sure it's good and tight.
The F/R part....I suspect your F/R switch contacts need replacing or a good filing/sanding. Try and wiggle the F/R switch back and forth while pressing the throttle just enough to get the solenoid to engage plus a little to get moving....if it jumps then your switch contacts are not making good contact. |

![]() its also possible the controller went, i,m doing a 97 right now that is doing the same exact thing...reverse is fine but forward is like the batts are dead so after a few hours of testing low and behold the controller is shot.........this is one i say if you can get your hands on a manual than do so and do a step by step diagnostic on it see where it leads you..........i narrowed mine down to the F&R switch but after pulling the plug apart for the reverse micro and having the voltage at the controller drop to zero bingo bad controller........i have to say the controller was the last thing i thought it would be but sure enough.............................
