Default 2ga welding cable vs 2ga battery cable vs 2ga speaker cable

I see on the post about using 2ga welding cable for our carts, but why welding cable and not the other 2? 2ga cable is 2ga cable...Right? Has anyone ever tried 2ga speaker cable? or 2ga battery cable?

The load characteristics should be very close to each type, where you get differences is strands, cladding, insulation factors. I like locomotive cables but they are very expensive, battery cables are stiff and hard to deal with but serve the purpose well. Speaker wire is usually made for interior, insulating factors aren't typically designed for exterior and the type use as in a cart.

What he ^ said. Also welding cables are more heat and chemical resistant. The welding cable is built to be abused, coiled and uncoiled, drug across rocks or concrete, handle the occasional sparks and slag from welding. Most audio cable cost more than the equivalent welding cable so unless you find it cheaper I would use welding cable.

My local welding shop sold me 24' for less than $50.
