what controller do I have?
I have a 2007 EZGO PDS cart. Serial number is 2539296. Its a 36 volt normally runs about 20mph. I added positive traction and a bigget motor, supposedly 14 amp?. It will climb hills very good. I was looking at the controller and it says its a Alltrax DCX500 PDS/HT w/adpt, ITS, use with D1162 motor only. I was just wondering what all of that means? Thanks for any help.

Re: what controller do I have?
Alltrax is the company that made your controller. It is an aftermarket controller and can pass 500 amps to your motor. Your stock controller was likely a 235 amp model if I remember correctly.

Re: what controller do I have?
The controller in a sepex drive system (like a PDS) has a field map installed for the motor being used. Your DCX500 controller has a field map for a (GE) d1162 motor and if you have anything else attached to it, the may be a danger of burning out that motor.
The DCX is user programmable and Alltrax most likely has a field map (free) for your motor , but finding a compatible computer (Pre-Win10, but not all pre-Win10) and cable (USB to 9-pin serial) is going to be a challenge. Best bet is to upgrade to an Alltrax XCT48500-PDS, which is Win10 capatable and connects with a readily USB-A to USB-B (USB printer) cable. BTW: A stock PDS controller (Curtis 1206MX) is a 300A controller. |

Re: what controller do I have?
Looks like the free "Controller Pro" software is still available on the Alltrax website.
https://alltraxinc.com/controller-pro-software/ Towards bottom of page there's a lot of good info about which version of Windows is needed and a couple of recommended cables listed. |
