fuel pump not
grandkids have an old yamaha g1. wouldnt fire up. pulled fuel line at carb, depressed accelerator. no fuel. crank case line has pressure (not sure what good pressure is, but has pressure).
So I bought a new fuel pump. same problem. Put suction to line out on carb and pulled full, depressed accelerator, still no fuel pumping. ANY IDEAS |

Re: fuel pump not
Prime the pump to see if that helps. Unhook fuel line at carb and blow air into fuel tank till fuel comes out at carb line. Then crank to see if it pumps. A clear line at the carb helps to see if fuel is draining back thru pump, it should not.

Re: fuel pump not
check fuel filter and hose inside the tank to make sure it hasn't came off or rotted off as well...

Re: fuel pump not
If fuel does not come out the carb line with air pressure in the tank check all fuel lines. Pull the pick up tube from the tank and check for leaks

It should not have pressure it should have a (pulse) pressure and suction. Next on the list to check would be the lines hooked to the new fuel pump. Some new pumps have a different pulse line location. Most have arrows but not always. Is it a factory replacement or after market? Can you post a picture of the new pump or a picture of how it is installed on your cart? I have had a bad new pump in the past. Not that uncommon. I just had a cart here and the pulse line was full of oil caused by the owner over filling the crank case. Once the new line was installed and the oil level corrected all was good. Steve |

Re: fuel pump not
Howdy Dewzer
crank is pulsing, pushing air. replaced with like fuelpump. crank line is clear and pulsing. I will take pics and post. The only thing I have not physically looked at is the line/tube on the inside of the tank. thanks |

Re: fuel pump not
Does the fuel flow back wards thru the pump when the tank pressure drops? If so the pump has a problem, a good pump acts as a check valve. I have had new pumps with diaphragm flaps missing
