Converting a '92 coil resistor to a electronic controller
I have a 1992 36 volt club Car DS with coil resistors and v-glide that I would like to convert to a electronic controller. Can anyone help me by supplying a list of parts I would need and the steps needed to complete the conversion.
I was planning on using the existing motor. Serial #A9245 309849. Are there conversion kits you can purchase that would include all parts needed? Wiring, switches, controller... The cart was donated to our H. S. softball program after it had been rolled sending the batteries flying crushing the v-glide, burning out wires, battery acid splashed around. I bought 6 new Trojan batteries, re-wired, replaced the parts that were needed and it was running fine (knew nothing about carts but learned as I went). The reason I want to do the conversions is that the v-glide keeps getting hot and the contacts start melting through the plastic. I did find a slight drain I had because the sweeper wasn't going all the way down, but I've been told that having an electronic controller is a better way to go. Is the conversion a better way to go? I would appreciate any help or info. |

Re: Converting a '92 coil resistor to a electronic controller
You can make the conversion for about $500+ or the replacement for $100. THe v-glide is replacable or rebuildable. Depending upon what is broken......If you want to go to a controller I suggest you go with a Logisystem controller for price....But you will also have to replace the solenoid, the v-glide with a potentiometer......
