i've been tempted at work to stab with my screw driver. my son did something similar to your 'mishap'. i cut the corner off of his cub scout whittling chip card. see:meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Whittling_Chip

Myself and knives don't play well together, either! They still want to bite even after all these years! I'm not trying to pick on you, but in my case, most of my blood letting was caused by being to lazy to go and get the proper tool! I even sometimes have the right tool and misuse it, and you guessed it - - - red!
Glad you weren't hurt badly and a couple of stitches fixed you up!!

Yep. Did the same thing with a razor knife and drywall. Hit the little finger and the next one over. It all healed, but the nerve endings were severed, so I can't feel anything in those two fingers...makes typing a bitc*!! But, hey at least we still have our fingers right?!!!!

Most of my bloodletting is through wrenches of the open and box end type, and on occasion sharp steel blanks at work.

NICE work... I have used everything from paper to chainsaws to cut myself... Severed a tendon once with sheet metal... I could go on.

WOW! Now that's a gash! I've used a knife several times as a screwdriver and never been cut. Some day my luck will run out.

My Buddy tried(TRIED!!) to cut a snow-tire off the rim with a non-lockblade Swiss-Army type knife. The results were not good!!!!!Is that kinda like the statement.."What is the proper use for a screwdriver?..A Pry-Bar!!!!"
