G1 doesnt want to run slowly!
Purchased an 84 g1 for the campground and am pretty happy with it. However, it sputters and jerks at low speed as if engine is stopping and starting but with an uphill or going fast it runs really well. New at this and I have no clue. Ideas?

Re: G1 doesnt want to run slowly!
There is a low speed fuel mixture screw on the carb. One screw is for idle mix, one is for slow speed mix. Try playing with the slow speed mix and see if you can get it to run better. start with full 360 deg turns then back off in 1/4 turn increments to get it right.

Re: G1 doesnt want to run slowly!
Might check the exhaust valve linkage. There's a valve in the exhaust manifold (between the cylinder and muffler) and there's linkage from it to the passangerside of the engine. There should also be a return spring. Make shure there attatched and working freely.
