Should I just get the Alltax XCT400 or can I add them both together (add PQ Bandit later) & get a HD solenoid to get even more power Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Ezgo motor &/ or controller upgrade
Just upgrade the controller and solenoid for now.
You may find that upgrading motor isn't needed. |

Re: Ezgo motor &/ or controller upgrade
I think you should get the Alltrax too and see if that doesn't fill the bill. The XCT requires a 200 solenoid like the SW180.
Motor wise... the motors cost so much to ship you can be $60-$100 into round tripping a motor somewhere, add the cost of reworking it and you are almost near the price of a new purpose built motor with substantially more horsepower. Other opinions may vary |

Re: Ezgo motor &/ or controller upgrade
Excellent advice and I agree. I would recommend purchasing a new purpose built motorl. Unless you live driving distance from the rebuilder. The cost of shipping motors gets crazy. As well there are a lot of great choices for new purpose-built motors.

1. Retailers 2. Golf cart techs (full time real techs) 3. Hobbyists (Extreme to mild) 4. Users of Golf Carts to actually golf etc... With regards to the types of carts people "build". 1. Golf Carts (they use them to golf, drive around their property) 2. Low Speed Vehicles (Street legal in some places... RXVs etc...) 3. Wannabe UTVs... So the advice given tends to lean towards what type of contributor you are... and what type of cart you are building. I am an Extreme Hobbyist who builds Wannabe UTVs... :P Cheerss, Impaled |

Re: Ezgo motor &/ or controller upgrade

Re: Ezgo motor &/ or controller upgrade
I just wrestled with this 2 years ago and thank fully both JohnnieB and ScottyB gave me sound advice.
Go with the XCT controller and solenoid 1st. my 36 volt PDS all stock after the controller went from 14 MPH to 25 MPH and had better torque since I was going a lot faster it still seemed to slow going up hills because I was going so fast down. I have since switched to 48 volts, the MOT-b2 (thanks ScottyB) and now the cart seems to loose hardly anything going up hill. I do not know the series equivalent motor. 1 last thing to remember is wiring, since you are talking hills switch to 2 ga wiring 2 make up for the heat created by hill climbing any way bottom line controller and solenoid plus wiring 1st , if your new here these guys know what they are talking about |
