Re: Incredible wiring
Lol, dissimilar metals, will be a pile of metal shavings within 2 years! Just kidding, it'll take longer than 2.
Although it's true, it'll hopefully take longer than that.. (grounds where needed, no "grounds" where they should not be). Still a process you can't avoid when mixing dissimilar metals. Same business Jag, Ford, & "all the rovers" did/doing mixing aluminum with steel. (They are nowhere near the only ones to commit that big sin). I suppose it's easy now, charge an extra $30/60/90 on top of nornal, and pretend all these laminates have no issues (fiberglass or wonder-carbon). Before flame gets too hot, I do not know a thing you didn't find yourself. |

Re: Incredible wiring
Aluminum and steel (or almost any mix of different metals) will attack each other through galvanic action. Essentially making a "battery" where they touch each other.

Re: Incredible wiring
What's aluminum and what's steel?
I saw some zinc stars. Are those better? I'm looking hard for brass stars. |

Re: Incredible wiring
All metals exhibit this to some degree. I'm not saying you must change it.

I’m still curious which pieces you’re referring to

Re: Incredible wiring
Got 6 way fuse box. It has a cover, sticker, 10 fuses, and attachment screws.

Re: Incredible wiring
I'm not an expert, so if you can explain which metal is bad in the setup let me know. And tell me what you suggest as a replacement.
I've attached the page(s) from the ezgo manual. They specify brass for the screw, but just a washer external tooth. I used the brake microswitch because I'm heading there soon. |

Re: Incredible wiring
I think he’s saying that with galvanic corrosion... the washer will soon be attacked and connectivity will begin to diminish... but I’m still guessing

Re: Incredible wiring
I'm not having good luck.
From China: The minimum size we have in stock is M3, see the drawing attached. |
