Re: Rxv range per charge
I tested in a mildly hilly 3 mile loop, with 8v batteries that weren't broken in yet, and got 23 miles. Tires were slightly larger than stock 18s, speeds were mostly "full speed" 20ish mph, with 4 stop signs on the loop.
Unseasoned batteries usually get about 75% of the max capacity battery will give at its best. I drove until the cart cutback for low battery. |

Re: Rxv range per charge
Yeah, the rxv will slow you down, before it shuts you down, when the battery is low.

Re: Rxv range per charge
I have a 2015 RXV with 6 8v Trojans that are 19-20 months old. Having some issues with them not charging fully right now. ive been asking others same question on what range they are getting. I you should be able to at least get 20-30 miles on them. Right now I don't think it would at full throttle which is about 27mph and I have 20.5" wheels which have all terrain type tires and usually 2 adults and 3-4 small kids

Re: Rxv range per charge
That's a shame. It would seem sometimes distance and time are important for range. 20 miles @ 20 mph and a low batteries in an hour might not be good. 20 miles @ 20mph max, averaging maybe 8mph, with batteries lasting over 2-3-4+ is certainly a better indicator.

Re: Rxv range per charge
It was mostly "flat out, top speed" with the occasional stop sign to slow me down.
Wasnt overly aggressive with acceleration, or stopping, trying to mimic typical use. No steep hills for the test, just up-hill grades, and matching down-hill grades. I was testing to compare to the new 72v txt that followed. 72v txt whipped up easily in that range comparison. (Well, I guess it's sort of a lie, I was driving the 72v txt, not the rxv, but that doesnt change the test, or its results, we both accelerated the same, and went same top speeds as set by ezgo, one directly following the other around the loop). I did it with gps, noted when the rxv quit, and continued on until the 72v txt quit (about 9 miles later). Both were "unseasoned" packs. Both were done in close proximity to the shop, so it was a "shut it down for about 10 minutes to rest, and get back to the shop" deal. (That shop is about 1/4 mile from starting point on the loop). |
