I think that depends on a few things. What are your goals for the new motor? Are you looking for increased speed or torque? Do you just want the motor to work again as originally designed? Have you talked to a motor shop around you to see what they’d charge to rebuild it? If it just needs new brushes, there’s plenty of help on this site for you to knock that out yourself. Have you checked into any of the aftermarket motors, if you do want to upgrade? What are you looking to spend?

There are a lot of factors that come into play and your answers will help people give you advice.

I would love to upgrade, I bought the cart like this. It has a 6 inch lift with 20 inch tires.

The brushes are gone in my old motor. Could you point me in the right direction on parts. What motor do I need to help with the bigger tires? I don’t need a ton of speed but the torque would be nice.

Looking today at the cost of a rebuild.
