Default When solenoid engages the motor is full throttle

I just bought a 95 model EZGO, it has a Curtis mod.1205M 5603 controller an
D&D mod. ES-51-25 motor 36-48, class H, when you push the go pedal as soon as the solenoid engages its full speed, I checked all connection, I changed the ITS coil, I’ve checked the wiring, I can’t find the problem.

Probably wired wrong. Not loose connection, but a wire in the wrong spot.

That’s my conclusion to, but I haven’t found a wiring diagram for this setup, it runs fine as long as you want to go wide open, forward an reverse, everything on the cart works like it should except the throttle.

Might be set to the wrong throttle type. (0-5k is the default value unless otherwise specified)

If you don't have access to the programmer, you can varify it being set to a 0-5k pot box type throttle by disconnecting wires on J2 & J3 and connect a 300Ω to 1000Ω resistor between the terminals 2 and 3. It'll still come on with the pedal pressed, but only about 1/5 or less.

Here's a manual for the controller and a schematic for a 1204/1205 in a 36V system (48V is same except the batteries)

What type of throttle is the controller set for? 95 ez go should have an ITS throttle. A quick Google search looks like most of those controllers are set for 0-5kΩ. You might need to find someone with a handheld programmer to change the throttle type.

That controller is new enough, it should include "high pedal disable". That means controller refuses to go when pedal is already at full when key is on.

There is nothing on the A2 terminal on controller, I think you are right though about the controller not being programmed for the right throttle, I have a 1311-4401 but when I plug it in, it don’t do anything blank screen, I bought it used so no telling it may have been fried when I got it.

I had the programer plugged in an accidentally leaned over on the throttle an the programer come on, are you suppose to have the motor running to program the controller.

Well, not if it's going full throttle, or you'll destroy the motor from over speed.

Apparently the controller has to be powered up for the programmer to come on.

Disconnect the cable on the controller's M- terminal to prevent the motor from spinning and you should be able to check the settings.
