Default Drops of oil under rear differential

I noticed that there is oil leaking from rear differential. Not much but maybe 4 drops a day.

Any advice?

Change the differential oil, and use RTV for a gasket when you reinstall the pan.

be sure not to overfill. That can cause oil out the vent and possible cause axle seals to leak.

Understand that proper oil fill cannot be done through diff cover hole IF yours is an RXV. Can be done that way with Txt. Proper fill for Yamaha (uses same axle) is 305-315cc. Rxv is more than double that.

Took the cover off and the oil was black so not sure if it is new or really old. The cover had some sort of paper thin film which I guessing was a gasket. I used brake cleaner to clean off and ran bead if gray silicone I bought at auto store. Put it back on and I’m waiting to put some gear oil in after the silicone cures. Hopefully this will do the trick.
