Electrical issue - 36V Medalist Series No-Go
All -
1994.5 Medalist with series drive. I replaced the F&R switch. Everything was running fine until I had the cable come loose on terminal D and caused the F&R post to overheat. I replaced the contact plate, as well as the wires to the motor (which were pretty old crusty), and now I have no go. I am not sure if the overheat would have caused another issue or not. Here is what I have tested: 1) Motor tests ok for shorts (none) 2) Solenoid works as it should 3) F&R switch seems to work as it should. 4) Throttle switch works (voltage varies as pedal is depressed) Here is the one that does NOT seem to work: When I am connected to the B+ and B- output terminals on the controller, according to the test procedure I should have full voltage (37.2) when the solenoid engages and the voltage should drop to near zero as the pedal is fully depressed to the floor. The voltage never changes. Time for a new controller? Does this issue come as a common occurrence with an overheat on Terminal D of the F&R? Thanks all - |
