Default Another RXV voltage reducer / solenoid wiring question

My cart is a 2010 RXV, Danaher controller, Trombetta 48v solenoid.

I recently posted how I wired a secondary 48V relay to power my voltage reducer for a turn signal / light kit. I had the secondary relay wired to the small switched 48v terminal on the solenoid.

Several helpful folks quickly advised me to move that connection to the large switched solenoid as the small terminals were not designed to handle any additional load. I made that change immediately, but now the lights behave differently.

In my original configuration the DRLs would turn on and off immediately with the key switch. After the change, the DRLs remain on for 20-30 seconds after I turn the key off and remove the key. Does anyone know why this is now happening?

I've commonly seen it. I believe the voltage on the switched side doesnt immediately drop to zero because of the capacitors in the controller.

That would explain it. Thanks much. It's actually a nice feature when putting it in a dark garage at night.

I do hear a very faint but audible click when they do turn off.
