Can you explain a bit more about why the 6 vs 4 provides better run time?

The 6x 8v batteries contain more lead. More lead = more plate area = more capacity. Another benefit of this conversion is longer overall battery life. Heres how, the amount you discharge your batteries with every use has a big impact on how long they last before needing replacement. Less "depth of discharge" per use = longer battery lifespan. Therefore, a higher capacity pack will last longer before replacing is needed (if your usage characteristics didnt change from when you had lower capacity batteries). This is why you should charge your batteries after every use, and get the highest capacity you can afford.

Super helpful. Now to decide whether to grab the used 12V or swap the set out. Hmmm.

If you can find a good used one go for it and run it. If it has the 12 volt accessories running off of just the back one get a reducer.

Keep in mind, your current battery tray cannot accommodate 6x 8v batteries. The proper tray is readily available & not too much work to install.

I would try to charge that one battery first. By its self. Get it back up to 12 + volts

Reducer. Takes the 48 volt pack and drops it to 12 to run accessories

Wanted to report back and let you know It was indeed a bad battery. Swapped it out and and the charger engaged. Let it charge overnight and she’s now running strong again. You guys are awesome for taking the time to walk me through the issue. Thanks!
