Re: key switch question
I guess my question was more voltage related. To get the 12v to run to the switch for the lights do you have to use a 36/48v source, step it down to 12v and run it back to the 12v pole on the switch or is there a 12v source on the cart?

Re: key switch question
I understand that, but it is my understanding that when parked turning the run/tow switch to tow with eliminate or minimize any static discharge. Wiring directly from two batteries would bypass that. Is there another 12v source in the cart system?

Re: key switch question
Some use a separate 12 battery while others use a voltage reducer to step pack voltage down to 12 volt. Either of these methods are preferred over using 2 of the batteries, so as not to put all the drain on just 2, instead of the entire pack. The closer you can keep all the batteries state of charge the better for battery life .

* Use two of the 6V batteries in the series string. * Use a 36V (48V - or whatever) to 12V DC to DC converter. * Install an auxiliary 12V battery to run the accessories. The 12V can be ran through a Off/On/Lights type keyswitch or through a separate switch or switches of your choosing, that you install. Some people construct very elaborate power control panels for accessories, others use very basic ones, the variations are pretty much limited to your imagination and financial resources. |

Re: key switch question
Technically, the second single pole can be whatever voltage you want or need. I wired mine up to power a 36 volt relay, which provided power to all of my accessories.
