Built myself a roof rack...
I had been wanting one for tackle bags, beach chairs, coolers, etc but didn't want to pay for one so I thought I'd build it myself. I don't have much in it and I think it turned out nice. Would've liked the bottom to be Aluminum diamond plate but at 110$ a sheet I passed in favor of the 6" wide aluminum junkyard finds. I think it turned out pretty good...

Re: Built myself a roof rack...
The rack turned out NICE
I have a client with a bunch of carts with roof racks and I can tell you that you will need additional supports for the roof struts. In all cases the struts broke from flexing at their mounting points... Especially the weaker front hoops. In your case I would ad a diagonal from far back on the rear seat arm rest to high up on the rear strut. doing it now is more effective than repairing a crack or break later. |

Re: Built myself a roof rack...
The rear supports appear to be beefier. I'm guessing from the rear seat kit?? I'm thinking the front supports will be replaced with beefier supports at some point. I'll just build some at some point. I'm a tall guy and adding additional supports will be just asking for headaches!
