Forward but no reverse..
OK, so I replaced 2 ring connectors on my F&R because the heat shrink and connector looked ragged. Did them one at a time and after I was done I put the neg cable back on and was gonna take it for a spin but I got no reverse...it'll go forward but that's it. Just clicks in reverse...
Pack voltage is ~51 volts and I tried jumping the reversing micro switch but when I do that I have no forward or reverse. Took the F&R apart and checked contact points and all my connections are fine...?? Is it time for a HD F&R or am I missing something? Only other thing I did was found the reverse buzzer and unplugged it but that doesn't have any effect on it right? Be pretty silly if it did... (2002 CC DS 48v) Thanks |

Re: Forward but no reverse..
Make sure You did not get your micro switch wires crossed.
The reverse buzzer micro switch is #2 (the middle one) it connects to Orange and Red/White fron the harness. It does not cause any problems being disconnected, but for safety, it may be better to just wrap some electric tape around the buzzer to muffle the sound. The 1/2 reverse micro switch is #3 (furthest away from FNR body), it has 3 wires: Green, White and Black. In Forward, Green is connected to White (full speed). In Reverse, Green is connected to Black (1/2 speed). The Black wire has a resistor in the harness that if broke could cause problems in reverse. To by-pass the 1/2 speed switch and have full speed in forward and reverse, jump the Green and White wires from the harness. Edit: The diagram in the stickies is not very clear, here is a High Resolution wiring diagram for Your cart: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...car_ds_48v.jpg Last edited by Sergio; 02-25-2015 at 07:02 PM.. OK, so my red/white wire was crossed on my #2 switch...I have no idea how that happened cause like I said, after I changed connectors out, I hooked neg cable back up and was gonna go for a spin...I didn't even mess with the micro switches until it wldnt reverse then I staters...strange!?
Anyway...thanks for the wiring diagram Sergio and thanks for the clarity! If it weren't for the members here I'm sure a lotta folks wld be lost!! |
