You got lucky. Splicing will work fine.

While You still have the MCOR4 out of the cart, could you please verify the resistance values?

There was a recent post that indicated it is not the same as the MCOR2.
  1. Fixed resistance from Purple to White pins:
  2. Variable resistance from Yellow to White pins:

Can do, I'm going to clean up a few things before putting it back together anyways.

BTW the resistors measured right on 453 OHMs, using a Fluke MM

Purple to white 6.09K ohms

Yellow to white 6.6K pedal up, 500 ohms pedal all the way down.

Thanks! That confirms the MCOR4 now has 500Ω in series with the wiper instead of the 1kΩ of the MCOR2.

By the way, I looked at that close up picture of the MCOR4 connectors, they are AMP SUPERSEAL 1.5 SERIES connectors.

The connectors seem to be well made, probably better than the older style, to me they look like the Delph but I didn't pay that much attention to them lol.

Last night I was able to make the controller replacement, installed the harness underneath and routed to the front and dash. This afternoon all I have left is the MCOR connectors then I can do the test run and see what happens. The 2008.5 IQ controller I was able to get 19.2 MPH on it vrs the excel 13.3 mph. It was going to cost me $100 to get it reprogrammed so this is why I decided to do the conversion in the first place. Eventually I'll upgrade to the same Curtis 500A controller as I have on my 2008.5 but until them this will give me a little more speed, I found it difficult to get out of traffic being limited to 13 MPH.

Sounds like it's on speed setting 3. A speed magnet should get you up around 20 mph or so with a good healthy charge.
