If it has a Run/Tow toggle switch under the seat it is NOT a Series cart, and IS a Sepex cart.

48v Sepex Club Car. Sepex carts benefit from high amp controllers in both torque AND speed, but you need to know which "flavor" of Sepex Club Car you have. I'm not the best on Club Cars, so let's see if others have more to offer.

Re: 98 48 volt speed upgrades ?
Cheapest way to speed up a 48v Series Club Car is to find a 36v Series Club Car motor that matches your differential and swap motors.

Re: 98 48 volt speed upgrades ?
Gornoman hit the nail on the head with that one. 36 Volt motors really wake up a 48 volt car, but unfortunately they are getting harder and harder to find since the 36 volt cart was discontinued in 2004. There are plenty of top quality high speed motors on the market for a 48 volt car that will drop right in and run on the factory controller.
