Default 96 Ezgo 36v batteries

I just bought a 96 Ezgo 36v for super cheap and I have found that I need batteries. I have a friend that has brand new agm style batteries that are about 1 inch longer then stock batteries and 1 inch taller. My question is will they fit with a lot of fab work or will I had to cut and mod the battery tray? Cart isn't here right now. I was thinking that I could extend the tray forward a little bit but wanted to ask the pros here.

PS Scotty thank you for the help with the controller info. I looks like I'll have to do these batteries before the new controller but we will be in touch and I found that the rev micro switch was bad causing the cart to think it was also in rev limiting the output to the motor by 12volts. New micro switch and other parts are on order will take pics before and after.

What kind of AGM batteries? Are they Golf Cart or Commercial Deep Cycle Batteries? If they are UPS, automotive or marine AGM they will not last very long in Golf Cart duty due to the heavy amp draw. AGM also require specialized charging algorithms so even your charger may not be compatible with...

They are deep cycle batteries that should fit a electronic floor scrubber

Here is the link to the battries. I think that they will be good to use because they aren't auto batteries. I just don't want to spend $800 on battries right now and I'm looking to get these for less then $50 a piece for these and they are old stock brand new

Well they do indeed seem to be well suited to golf cart duty... How old is new old stock? You might need to do a bit more research on their charging requirements too...

I think he said they were a year old. I really want to go to 48v but then it's the money for battries with it need anyways but then a charger and new controller and I don't have lots of money to spend on a budget

I have decided to go with regular golf cart batteries and custom making my own 2 awg wires. I already upgraded my f&r switch to hd myself and have ordered a spm48500 from Scotty. Hope to finish the cart tomorrow when I have all the stuff can't wait to run it this weekend
