ezgo pds rear end issues, no power to axle
having some issues with my ezgo pds
parents hopped on and noticed a whirring noise when they hit the accelerator. motor spins in F+R but axles do not spin. opened up the rear end and can see the gears spinning in either direction but axles still do not spin. does anyone have a schematic of the rear end? looking to troubleshoot the problem, but am new to the rear end and power transfer of a golf cart. |

Re: ezgo pds rear end issues, no power to axle
Most likely cause is a stripped hub. have somebody try to drive away while you watch each axle nut. If one of the axle nuts spin without spinning the wheel then a stripped hub is the problem and the solution is a pair of HD replacement hubs from Ausco.
The lowest price I can find on the internet is here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ausco-products.html |

Re: ezgo pds rear end issues, no power to axle
just checked, only one axle nut spins while the other is stationary. Are pds carts only single wheel drive?

Re: ezgo pds rear end issues, no power to axle
99 % of all golf cart based vehicles have an open differential aka one wheel drive. Easy fix

Re: ezgo pds rear end issues, no power to axle
You can replace with similar OEM type hub but these are the Achilles Heel of the Ezgo design. The hubs hold up okay to golf but anything more stressful requires a stronger solution. Look at Ausco PK2127
It's the last hub you ever buy. Oh! And remember axle nut torque is 90-140 ft pds or it will strip again |
