Default Voltage reducer 2010 DS

I have searched the various threads, but remain confused. My battery configuration has one on each side of the cart and 4 in the middle (48V).

Connecting to the positive terminal is obvious (passenger front). Does the black wire need to connect to the main negative terminal that is located on driver side rear or can it connect to any negative terminal?

I understand that it needs to measure 48V, but will that only happen from the mains?

I would need to add wire to reach the main negative.

Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to add wire. The reducer must draw voltage from the battery pack main + and -.
Be sure to use the same size or bigger wire.

There is a red and white wire that runs from the reducer. Does it need to be connected to the blue wire right at the switch or can it be connected anywhere in the line?

if it is the reducer 48v trigger wire , you can splice it anywhere on the blue (key switch) wire
