I haven't completed completed the testing yet, still looking at a possible battery issue.

Like a dream. Your motor has an older version speed sensor, but it sends identical speed pulses as those in newer IQ motors. And if you get a programmable XCT-IQ type controller (preferably 400amp)- that ol' motor will run you comfortably up to 20 mph with simple programming.
