Brake lights
Afternoon all. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to adjust the brake light switch on a 2009 cc precedent? I can push down the brake pedal hard and the brake lights come on, but under normal braking they won't come on. Just trying to keep from getting run over while out on the streets.
Thanks Don |

Re: Brake lights
Good question, I have a similar problem. You might be able to back off of the adjustment under the floor plate so the pedal will move more forward to activate the switch sooner.
I'm not on the highway so it doesn't bother me. |

Re: Brake lights
To access, remove floor mat and you will see a cover, remove cover.
Most have a plunger type switch mounted on a L bracket that is mounted to the frame. The plunger is connected to the brake pedal with spring. The plunger switch can be adjusted with the mounting nut, if it is adjusted all the way out you can shorten spring. If it is a micro switch the mounts should be slotted for adjustment, if not you can bend blade on mirco switch. |

Re: Brake lights
OK all I did take the floor matt out and pulled up the brake and accelerator assembly for a look see. Could not find any micro switches and very few adjustments for the brake light switch. My cart is a 2009 precedent. After further checking, what I did find was under the rubber piece that covers the brake pedal, a square computer type chip. I think it must be pressure activated as I moved it over just a little bit and now the brake light work's with very little pressure from your foot when stopping. Really a weird little piece but hey as long as it works I'm OK with that. Just and FYI for those that are having brake light problems.
