Default Auto paint or krylon

Is the price and labor of auto paint worth the expense vs the simplicity and cost of krylon?

Depends on what kind of paint job you want. A Spray can, can be made shinny if you can get it that way. It's hard to do with a can, on a big surface . Auto paint and a spray gun and a paint booth. Big difference. Super shinny

Due to past experiences, I wouldn't use krylon on a turd. Rustoleum way better! If you can find the color you want, factory, [not jobber], farm equipment enamel generally is very tough when used with a hardener, nice gloss, and is generally less expensive than automotive paint.

I’ve rattle canned using rustoleum and gotten great results. Note: You need to use adhesion promoter after throughly lightly sanding surface and cleaning and degreasing it very thoroughly. Then use a light primer coat enough to cover the small scratches from sanding. Then use your rattle can color. Stay an even distance from the surface and spray right to left and left to right, letting off the trigger while still moving your hand then start to move the opposite direction and then repress trigger. This helps eliminate pooling and uneven areas.

kry is one of the lowest rated rattle paints on the market. Rust-O is a great product. I got a near-automotive finish with my metallic copper, and 3 coats of clear coat.
