Re: Teach me about chargers
Fantastic .. I bought a bad charger? Cause it's doing the job and charging it... I never charge the cart when I'm away .. so should I just keep an eye in it ?

Re: Teach me about chargers
Timer boards/relays are common wear items. But be thankful yours is rebuildable. PowerWise QE owners aren't that lucky!
the Charger part is fine, but it will just go and go and bake the batteries if left alone. The electronic timer and/or relay is failing or has failed. Check the inside and see if a previous owner bypassed it too. I see this happen a lot on Total Charge III units. |

Re: Teach me about chargers
The board for that charger is quite expensive, time to open it up to see if the board is bypassed. Boards that are bypassed are done because board doesn't work. Someone might have passed you a bunk charger.

Re: Teach me about chargers
Realistically, you could just keep an eye on it and shut it down when it hits 60v, that's roughly what the timer board does. The timer board offers protection from over charge from too high voltage, or protection from batteries just taking too long to reach full (usually an indication of bad batteries).

Re: Teach me about chargers
We keep tons of older ones as parts units (those which have failed transformers or are seriously out of date) and a cheap way to fix it is using a timer unit from an older charger that mounts in the three holes that are covered up by a board inside a Lestronic unit.

This is what I'm working with .. guy gave me a timer kit but it says 36v in the instructions.. so I'm guessing it won't work.. plus idk how the heck to write it in

Re: Teach me about chargers
This is the situation I was talking about earlier in this thread. If you're able to find the correct relay / timer module for this charger for a fair price, please let me know where.
