If you have a series drive, it goes to MS-2.
If you have a PDS, it goes to J1 Pin-4.

I asked and did not receive an answer for which drive your cart has, so I listed were the other end of red wire out of the charge receptacle goes to on both.

If the charger doesn't work without it being connected, then we must be talking about different wires.

Pictures please and maybe I'll be able to figure out which wire you are talking about.

Otherwise - bye.

Thumbs up Re: 2000 Ezgo TXT charger plug sense wire

I think he is trying to say that it has been bypassed and hooked straight to the battery instead of the micro switch.

My factory 04 PDS cart plugin has red wire with spade connector going to a white wire that runs to passenger side of cart. I took it loose and have it on the battery side of the solenoid. I did this when I went to AC drive kit.

I don't know if it's been bypass or not it like it's been since I bought the cart 10 years ago and only last week when I plug the charger in, I found the wire connector burned off, it's a short wire and it had to be to one of the near battery, and when I tried to place on a -or+ post it arcs. You are probably right about the bypass and all I'm trying to find out is where the wire goes.
I am posting an image of the receptacle closed and opened
Thanks

The red wire will be short. A few inches out of the plug in. Look for a loom going over to the passenger side with the 2 battery charger wires. (Big white & Black wire)The small white & yellow wire would be in the loom with them.
The white & yellow wire on mine I installed on the hot side of the solenoid from the batteries when I did the AC mod.

Andy,The only wires in the loom going to the passenger side are the black and white from the receptacle, and the only other wires going there are red and black from the light switch .
Attached [I hope] are 2 pics of the receptacle .
Thanks for your help .

2000 Ezgo TXT charger plug sense wire

The only wires in the loom going to the passenger side are the black and white from the receptacle.
The red wire that you see in the attached pics with the ring connector is the one that was melted. The short red wire with a ring connected had to have been attached to a nearby battery post.
The cart runs but I don't want to plug the charger in this wire hanging loose.

Attached 2 pics of the receptacle .
Thanks for your help .

If the cart runs, then the reed switch has been bypass by some other means and the red wire attached to the positive radsok is not needed. Remove it.

BTW, that is not the charger plug sense wire. The charger's battery sense wire touches the negative radsok via the auxiliary contact in the charger's D plug, as shown (circled) in attached picture.
