Default Constant battery / cable problems, now sparking.

I should mention that while it is sparking, it is in tow position. I have checked several times and it is off and the switch is down. The lights also don't work right now.

Where is it sparking from? You could have a loose connection of a terminal that has busted loose from the battery. Need more details to troubleshoot.

I spent a long time writing a very thorough post and when I went to update it, it apparently overwrote it.

Too lazy to write it all again now. In short, the problem is the batteries' posts keep melting and it's destroyed quite a few batteries now.

You have bad cables (resistance, looseness, etc.) or a draw (like lights or a converter) coming from the pack causing heat to build at the post and failing.

I agree 100% with bad battery cables or connections. Have a read of the attached Trojan Battery document for more information.
