Re: Admiral A4 install.
Yes sir. 100 percent on the monitor seems to come at about 75 percent of pedal depression though. Like it's getting there a little too early.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
Your controller limit was at 6000 rpm's based on your previous post. That means with the 4400 rpm's you are doing is all your current configuration is capable of. Meaning the controller is giving all your pack is capable of delivering, so baring a binding brake, weak pack or other unseen anomaly, that is about all your torque motor can do. But, it could pull a small boat like that as it is designed for power delivery. If you noticed how large that motor is, that is because it is designed to apply torque and take more heat within the winding's. If that assembly you have was to spin at ~6500 rpm's, you would need substantially more then the 48v pack you have and a different motor design.
Now you can put larger tires or a higher gear ratio and get more speed. You can also pump up the voltage. Talk to your supplier and ask for assistance in meeting your goal. He may have more options.... Good Luck in meeting your goals and we will help wherever we can. |

Re: Admiral A4 install.
2 things you can do. One uncheck the limit speed box seen on the monitor page you showed. Be sure to SET changes before exiting the program. This will tell if the speed problem is in the speed sensor or wiring if the speed increases.
Two collect and share a monitor file. This will give 2 important pieces of information. One it will show if the throttle signal range is reaching 100%. And two it will show the battery performance. Peak speed requires peak voltage. |

Re: Admiral A4 install.
I've been doing some monitor runs with my A4 motor. I have my rev/min set at 4000. I'm getting 21-22mph on flat roads with 24 inch tall tires and a 5 year old FLA pack. I love the torque of the motor but it pulls the amps going up hills with your foot in it. If you're considering going the lithium route, I would suggest a lower hp motor than the A4.

Torque motors make torque, speed motors make speed. Having a torque motor is going to pull many amps (for a split second) at a lower rpm due to their design and that amp draw will decrease as his speed increases. |
