Default Battery nut torque

Is 100 in-lb the correct torque for the battery cable nuts?

This is my terminal type.

Although I never torque mine that way. I have gotten use to what I want and what holds over these many years so I just tighten to feel. (Never had a problem - LOL!)

And be sure to use some spray-on anti-corrosion on them after installation. It will keep the threads nice and clean for you down the road.

Yes, I always apply anti corrosion. I don't think the nuts that came with the battery had a built on washer/lock washer. They look to just be a standard nut. Is that ok? I see some use a nyloc nut.

That is just fine. I used flat washers before, but not lock washers as they will not always flatten out and can cause a hot-spot.

Never had a problem before as I always re-torque them each month. I'll just keep the same practice each month and forgo any type of locking nut/washer

torque spec on a battery is a way out of warranty, "you torqued it to what?"
