Default Alltrax on 2010 Precedent Excel

I just received my Alltrax XCT-48400-IQ and 200 Amp solenoid from Revolution. Since I have an excel cart, do I need to install the Regen Diode?

Any other tips for this installation will be greatly appreciated. There is no straightforward or ubiquitous video on the internet for upgrading a controller and solenoid for a precedent.

Thanks!!

Thanks for setting the record staright... I also saw a lot of conflicting information regarding Alltrax response to these diodes.

So the white "stripe" on the REGEN diode should be facing towards the terminal/post of the solenoid that has the wire attached to it going back to the + of the pack (where the included terminal fuse is attached)....? Even though the actual black cylindrical diode is so close to the other end that is going back towards the B+ on the controller. Right?

And for the smaller diode (coil suppression diode), the white stripe should be facing the light blue wire?

I hope my question makes sense.

Lastly, I have an Excel precedent with an OBC. Will there be any wires that get "deleted" or remain unattached after installation? Or will everything have a place?

Did you read the thread I linked you too? It is specific in how the diodes go. Both diodes, regen and suppression, both go with the silver band side towards the positive activation or power supply side. Remember, knowledge is power...

On the Large post, it will be on the side from the + battery cable
On the Small posts, it will be on the side with the Light Blue wire

Just double checking before i blow out my solenoid! in the wire map the diode is in pictured in the middle when in real life the diode is all the way at the end that will be closest to the opposite post of where the silver band is supposed to be facing.

The term "facing" is used to indicate which lead from the diode goes to what terminal/post on the Solenoid.

The stripe "facing" the battery means to connect the lead that comes off the diode side where the stripe is to the Solenoid post that goes to the battery.

Just remember the diode is similar to a check-valve and allows flow one way, but not the other. (That is generic and not meant to be an all-inclusive representation)

Got it!! thanks for all the help. I got it isntalled and it ran great. I sent a photo to Dave and he reminded me that i forgot to install the new cables to replace the 6 gauge..

Is this for all cables? Even the ones going from the controller to the motor?
