Another inexpensive upgrade is a better solenoid with higher amp rated contacts. The stock version is only about 85A and should be at least 200A.

Attached is what the contacts of a stock solenoid look like after a few years normal use.

A series drive has either 13 or 14 high current cables depending on whether the controller has an A2 terminal or not. The attached schematics have the high current circuit highlighted, without and with the A2 terminal on the controller.

Cables 1 thru 5 connect the six batteries in series.
6 - Battery B+ terminal to solenoid.
7 - Solenoid to controller B+.
8 - Controller B+ to A on F/R assembly.
9 - F/R D to motor S2.
10 - Motor S1 to F/R B.
11 - F/R C to Motor A2.
12 - Motor A1 to Controller M-.
13 - Controller B- to Battery pack B-.
(14 - Controller to F/R C --- if so equipped).

Carts unlimited is where I got my cables a bit over nine years ago and they are still going strong. https://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-cables.html

He also sells solenoids:

If there is the slightest chance you might upgrade to a 42V or 48V battery pack in the future for increased speed and torque, get one of the solenoids that will operate at 36V through 48V, so you don't have to replace it when you up the pack voltage.

I have a driveway that is about 35-40% incline. My 48v TXT just crawls up the drive. When the wife and dog are in the cart, it almost won't make it up the drive.
