Problem I have never seen before
Got an 1993 Ezgo series 36 volt electric in to repair for low power. Battery pak voltage is good.Someone at some point installed an Alltrax AXE 4844 controller dated 06/06,08 and is marked "ITS" as far as pedal input. If you unplug the orange 1/2 speed reverse wire it has the power in reverse you would think it should have in forward. It will climb any hill in reverse that it struggles with in forward.
According to the Alltrax wiring diagrams some models wire with postive polarity to solenoid and some with negative polarity to the solenoid. This one is wired pos to solenoid now. I am thinking the polarity may be backwards on this one. have any of you Guys ever ran into this before. Any input/help here is appreciated. Buddygo |

Re: Problem I have never seen before
A 1993 EZGO golf cart ought to have a 0-5kΩ pot box throttle, but you mention an orange 1/2 speed reverse wire, indicating an ITS throttle, which means the cart is 1994.5 or later. (Or somebody has done some rewiring)
----------- I've never seen the solenoid in the B- side of the controller. It is a series circuit, so the solenoid could be placed anywhere in the high amp loop. Please post a schematic showing that arrangement. |

Re: Problem I have never seen before
Never noticed it before, but the motor's A1 terminal is connected to the B+ terminal in a Marathon with a 1204/5 controller and to M- in later body styles with a 1206 controller, so the polarity is different.
At the motor, swap the A1 and A2 cables AND the S1 and S2 cables. That should change the motor's polarity and the F/R lever ought to still be in sync with cart direction. |
