You would think at my age I could follow directions.
1st. I forgot to press the pedal. so that reading is wrong. I will check again later today

Need to get the solenoid to click before any other testing.

If the solenoid doesn't click, all other tests are meaningless.

JohnnieB,
Where should I start with getting the solenoid to click?

In my post#8 I attached a drawing showing the voltage paths through a PDS controller to get B+ (battery pack voltage) to one side of the solenoid's coil.

Once you get B+ on the yellow wire to the coil, then pressing the pedal (pedal switch) causes B- to be applied to the other side of the coil, energizing the solenoid(making it click).

The third image attached to post#8 is a PDS schematic with all the wires that need to have B+ on them to to apply battery pack voltage to motor.

I have battery + on the yellow wire on 1 side of solenoid.
I have battery + on the blue wire on the other side of the solenoid.
pressing the pedal does nothing, except i can hear the microswitch click.
I have battery on the red wire on the microswitch. when it click I have battery voltage on the green wire(other side).

3 questions
1: should I have battery + on the blue wire with pedal not engaged?
2: If the blue wire is battery + does that mean the controller is bad?
3: If #2 is "no", what's next?

1. Yes. With key on and a direction selected yellow will have pack +
2. Blue will have pack + until the controller grounds the blue wire which won’t happen until all parameters are met.
3. With the cart in the air you could try putting pack negative on the blue wire and see if the cart runs. If yes replace the controller.

I have Lifepo4 battery.
when i put - power to the blue wire the solenoid clicks, however the BPS in the battery shut it down. So it provides no power at all.

But since it clicks, the solenoid seems to be working.
Where does leave me? Bad controller?

If the bms immediately shuts down I would think over current so maybe bad motor or controller. If you disconnect A1 and one of the F wires does the BMS still shutdown?

Now something else is happening. everything connected the same way before testing.
when i connect the cables to the neg side of the battery it arcs and the BPS shut it down.
