RXV chatter from rear end
2012 Ezgo RXV has a chattering from the rear end. It does not move smoothly in tow mode. It will move but definitely requires more force. Watch video and give me your thoughts. Is it the bearings, input shat, or worse? It runs ok but I can tell it requires more battery use to operate than it should. Appreciate any advice y’all can offer.

Re: RXV chatter from rear end
Almost sounds like a dragging brake. Try putting in tow and then remove the three 10mm bolts holding the brake on. Lay the brake on top of the motor and see how it rolls.

You were spot on cartdoc. Took off motor brake. Rolls smooth and easy.

Re: RXV chatter from rear end
Make sure you ordered an OEM brake. The aftermarket ones don't typically play well with RXV's.

Re: RXV chatter from rear end
Put on an OEM motor brake and cart has been running fine for last month. Yesterday, cruising at 25 mph cart lost power and stopped. I have two 48 volt lithium batteries running in parallel. They have a digital display that shows voltage and percent. Both batteries appeared dead. The displays were blank. So with zero power I could not put it in tow mode. Ended up taking motor brake off so the cart would roll. Towed it home and plugged in the charger and the batteries came immediately back to life indicating 87%/52 volts.
Replaced motor brake and cart seems like nothing wrong. No codes on the Navitas controller app. Must of had a spike that shut down both batteries. |

Re: RXV chatter from rear end
Update. On closer examination I noticed one battery was showing .3 volts lower than the other so I hooked em up one at a time. Discovered battery 1 was dead. When charger was hooked up it showed 100%/54.7v but dropped to zero when unplugged. Battery 2 is working normal. Now I know why it seemed like I was using more battery for the distances I was driving. Maybe this had something to do with battery 2 shutting down yesterday. Have to check on warranty. Less than a year old.
