We install A LOT of these motors and have never had any issue with them. Not a single problem at all...

I find it very hard to believe that 2 people have gone through 7 motors and my dealership has never had an issue with even one?

I've heard nothing but GREAT things about the EMP's motors. I plan on keeping my stock 300 amp Curtis controller to see what happens and how it works. Depending on how the torque and speed is I might installing a new controller. Just curious now which controller would work best with my set-up?

Call Chuck and ask him about the 2 motors from Jax Fl(Rick) and Macclenny Fl(Jeff) and see what he tells you about the motors we have fried. I have probably got pics on my other comp. that Chuck asked me to take the last time it fried, showing that everything had burnt up. I took some this time and sent them to him showing that the brushes had swelled up and were not touching the armature any more and that is obviousley why it wont move and he told me if I paid shipping both ways he would fix it for $150.00. He has yet to build me a motor that will last (I guess he thinks I am dumb enough to pay him more to build another motor to fail) and this last one I bet does not have 12 recharges (on batteries) because I am riding my Melex with the 4 wheeler running gear under it. I only use the battery cart when I go to campgrounds, because it is quiet. Otherwise it has been locked in my storage container. I called EMP up after I got that e-mail saying what they wanted to fix it and asked Andrea if I could speak with Chuck and she said "oh hey Jeff I just sent you a reply are you going to send your motor in?" I said " No, I am not going to pay you more money to fix something that keeps breaking" and she butted in and said "ok bye" and hung up, I was still talking until I started hearing a dial tone and I did not give her any reason what so ever to be so rude. I try calling back and I guess they see my # and do not answer.
Now if you want to deal with a company like that it is your business but as I said I have had no luck at all with their 2 speed motor and will never again recommend it and will discourage anyone from using their product, unless like I said before you dont mind changing them out when they burn up and eventually they are going to do you just like they did me.
If you want more details e-mail me @jagfan28@aol.com and I will send you my phone number.

I just installed a switchable EMP DA5 limo motor that Chuck customized for my 98 CC DS series cart. I have a stock controller and wiring. Test drive in the speed mode and the cart seemed about twice as fast as before the upgrade. Speed also doubled uphill in speed mode! (therefore more torque in speed mode than stock motor) Currently installing a 6" lift and 22" tires....will follow up with more details and GPS speeds once that is complete. I was blown away by the performance increase!

$250 stock upgrade
$175 upgrade to limo motor (DA5)
$100 switch kit
plus shipping

I was looking at spending $1k plus to upgrade all electrical components without a motor and just gain speed from the larger tires. EMP upgrade is more than sufficient power and speed. Everything I read suggested I was going to need to replace controller/wires/solenoid/F-R switch...and possibly motor as well to get what I wanted. Best upgrade I could have done was the switchable limo motor. I paid the extra $$ for the limo motor because it can handle more load and abuse, but Chuck said the performance would be about the same. Nothing else is needed at this point. I am not sure if the stock upgrade would have been as good, but I am very happy with the limo motor upgrade.
