RIB, Thank you for the info and I'd also like to say to any NEWBES "That you will get good answers on or from this board".
I made, what I believe is a mistake of signing on to an another web site "JUST ANSWER" and asked an expert (and paid a fee). Well I wasn't satisfied with the amount of information I recieved for the price Level I paid for from that expert.
You all have given me more in 5 post than I can thank you for.

Well my new found golf cart friends:
I'm posting to say thanks for all the input. After all the checking, cleaning, recharging and retesting. The problem was found and the last work was to replace a solenoid with a new one. The resistor coils were good, the Micro switch checked out OK, the wiper board was cleaned along with the contacts and a file was used to make sure the contacts weren't touching.
The Golf Cart Gods have smiled on this Old Guy and I'm pooped out.
Finished this Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and tested the 1985 EZGO Marathon and we went from "WON'T GO" to purrs like a cat. Thanks again to all the helping minds and the advice from you all.
Guess it's time to get cleaned up and take my sweet heart (wife of 53 years, NOT the cart) to the club house and have a swim to celebrate a new learning experience.
Best Regards to you Guys
