upgrade speed/torque?
i have an ezgo txt with pds drive. i added a 500 amp controller and 400 amp solenoid, and motor all from d & d motors. this kit is suppose to travel 21+mph and 70% torque with lift and tires. i bought this to go with a lift and 23 tires. i have installed motor, controller, and solenoid. ran it today and it doesn't seem to have anymore speed and very little torque. please help me.

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
If it works and is just weak, I would be calling the company you bought it from.

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
Yeah, I would call them. Make sure you go over each connection again to make sure you didn't miss something.

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
You didn't mention the age and condition of your battery pack. High performance upgrades DEMAND a fully functioning pack.

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
I'm getting 22mph + with my '08 TXT 6" Jakes long travel lift, 23" tires and a freedom chip, that's all, nothing else added, YET

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
jwisel got a 70% increase in torque! That is great. Is it the 502:1 7hp motor? Are you running 36v? What is the controller program set up at? Since D&D sold the package they may have set speed limits in the controller package to protect the motor ? I would be interested to know the answer to that Q.
Hyper got top end speed but a loss of torque going to bigger tires and another loss of torque with the freedom chip. jwisel may not have gotten any more speed but he darn sure can turn those 23s should he decide to go off road. |

Re: upgrade speed/torque?
Just got a call on selling a couple of my RC airplanes, there may be a new controller in my future sooner than expected.
My neighbor with the same setup except a 6" spindle lift instead of the Jakes LT but he is talking about going with the PQ Bandit motor before a controller. Will he still have the same potential of easily burning up the stock controller? |
