Recommend a good battery tray..?
It's getting near new battery time, and I may as well replace the battery tray that's pretty corroded.

I'm trying to decided the same thing. From what I've gathered is if you're gonna remove the body it is best to replace it with the stock tray. If you do not want to remove the body you can cut out the old one and the aluminum tray bolts in. Hope this helps

Is it not possible to remove the battery tray with the body on? Seems like you could tilt it and lift it out. Has anyone done this?

I'll have to take a closer look. Just glancing at it last week, it looked like remove the brake cable, and unbolt the tray.

Re: Recommend a good battery tray..?
Unless it's really corroded bad, it can be cleaned up and a protective coating can be applied. I used a wire brush on a drill motor and side angle grinder, and was able to clean mine up in place. You'll have to work under the cart on jack stands. Be sure and use proper eye protection. I used Rustoleum truck bed liner.
Dunno if all models are the same, but the body covers the front bolts. It may be possible to bend the body enough to access the bolts without removing it. |

Re: Recommend a good battery tray..?
I had a split in the corner battery, and it leaked all over the place until I fixed it.
The battery tray has had several layers of metal eaten away. |
