Default Charging problem with PowerDrive II 48v. charger

Bought this reconditioned PowerDrive II 48v.charger on Ebay from honest dealer with 100% feedback. I can't get it to come on or charge the batteries. I can't reach seller until Monday. Is there a way to test it without it hooked up to the Club Car or to the batteries? How can I test the voltage at the plug end, coming from the charger, that goes into the Club Car receptacle? I have heard that if batteries don't have at least 42v in them, charger will not recognize that there are batteries to be charged and won't come on,is this true? Is there a way to make charger come on and charge batteries with less than 42v. in them? Any help will be appreciated greatly.

It is not uncommon for someone to buy a new charger when the old one fails to come on.....only to find out later that the battery pack is too low for the charger to read. SO, get a voltmeter and tell us what the whole pack reads at the charger plug...There are ways to jump or hot wire these chargers but it is not recommended and defeats the whole automatic charger thing.

I have the same problem and question but don't see that an answer was ever provided. Whole pack voltage is 48.8V. Normally, when the charger is connected, I ecan hear what sounds like a control relay inside the charger clicking lover after 2-10 seconds and the amp meter indicate's that it's charging. Nowi there's ano click and no charge.

You have the same charger as me but unfortunately Lester's site shows a manual for them but not for download. I've been using the Lestronic 2 pdf file instead for troubleshooting purposes.

Yeah, I saw that I could not download the manual for this one. I'll run through the procedure listed in the Lestronic one and see if that helps. I'll post here later once I know more. Thanks again.
