Controller cover

Just finished upgrading the cables from 6 AWG to 2 AWG and now the cover for the controller does not fit. I know I can modify it to fit, but is it really neccessary?

Stock controllers are not water resistant. That is why they use an environmental cover. While they are not air tight their function is to keep water out. Keep that in mind when modifying them.
Most every aftermarket control is potted in resin (water resistant) and have an extruded aluminum housing to help dissipate heat. So they do not use the cover.

oopppps - I am gonna run into the same problem with 2g replacement project.

Scotty - I will be calling you tomorrow morning to discuss the Controller and Solenoid. Cover not required then? Hmmmm....good to know.

Thanks ScottyB. I will keep that in mind when I modify the cover. In the near future I plan on up grading to a 500 amp controller. Thought I would start with the cables then soleniod and f&r switch first.
