:)

I'm itching to try it, USB serial adapter coming in today. I'll definitely report back. Got to rebuild the seat first, though..

Ah, crud! The solenoid blocks the programming port!

Weird huh? I think it was design by comity

Sometimes you can remove one fastener and let the solenoid swivel enough to clear the port, depending upon the solenoid size.

Yeah, that's what I'll do. Focusing on getting the seat done first..

Seat done!

I picked up the wires this afternoon. I asked for 3ga, but he made them 2ga. :)

I think we're going to dragoncon tomorrow, so not sure I'll get anything done..

Wow.. much done since last post. Installed the 2ga motor and battery-to-controller wires. Realized I'd overlooked the +ve solenoid-to-controller wire - that sucker is 6ga!! So I doubled up a couple of 4-ga (battery to solenoid/controller wires) until I could get the rest made.

Picked them up this evening, I now have 2ga everywhere!

I've got one 12V supply hooked in for the "low" power stuff (radio, LED running and tail lights) and another delivered tomorrow for the HID projectors, which should be here by the end of the week.

Can't wait to get all the electricals wrapped up. Already thinking about brakes and wheels..

Well, here's the end result! All 2ga now:

Also set the max speed to the lowest it will go (50%) for the horse show, and put a new battery in the speedometer. It was getting 20mph on level ground, now goes exactly 10. Enough around horses. Still gets full power, and will pull "max speed" up hills as well.

Finally, softened the throttle response by changing to the "progressive" curve. My wife said it scared her the first time she hit the throttle (before I toned it down..)

Looking Good.

Setting the Throttle Up Rate to a lower number also softens the take off.

I use the Progressive Throttle Response Curve, Throttle Up Rate of 3 and 85% on the Top Speed.

Thinking I need to permanently relocate the solenoid so I can access the programming port more often. Not so easy as the low-power wires between it and the controller are short - I already tried.

Why on earth did they put the port behind the solenoid?
